Government Relations
SACGA will represent all facets of the industry – manufacturers, distributors, suppliers and transporters, and will be the compressed gas industry “voice” in the formation of legislation and regulations. SACGA will ensure that members are given early warning regarding regulatory and legislative developments. Working Groups will be formed from Association members to proactively work with Government Departments and recognised bodies i.e. Departments of Labour, Health, Environmental Affairs, Transport and the SABS to develop safe policies and sound regulations.

Development of technical standards and publications
SACGA members will lead the way in writing and revising safety and technical publications. As a member of a Working Group or ad hoc Committee, you will have a voice in the development and production of these standards and safety publications that promote a safer industry. Technical standards and safe practices are key to maintaining a self-regulated industry.
A Global Voice
By reason of its associated membership with the CGA (Compressed Gas Association USA), EIGA (European Industrial Gas Association) and BCGA (British Compressed Gas Association) our members are able to participate in the setting of international standards and enjoy the benefits of being Associated Members.
Participation in Meetings and Seminars
A number of meetings and seminars will be held on a regular basis and many of these will only be available to SACGA members or their guests. Also, preferential rates will be given to SACGA members when public seminars are held.
Safety
An Incident Reporting System and Safety Awards Programme will be implemented to improve industry awareness, reduce the number of incidents and reward safe operating practices.
Discounts on publications purchases
Members can purchase SACGA and worldwide affiliated Associations’ publications and audio visuals at significant discounts.
